Privacy Policy

Squishito collects nothing. No accounts, no sign-up, no email address, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. The app has no way of sending information to us, because it never connects to the internet at all.

Squishito is made for children aged 6–8 and is published by On Demand Embedded Software Solutions LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what the app does and does not do with information. It is written to be read by a parent in a few minutes.

The short version

We collect no personal information from anyone, child or adult.
The app makes no network connections. It works entirely offline.
There are no third-party components — no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no social media kits.
Your child's collection stays on the device and never reaches us.
We show no advertising of any kind, and we never will.

What we do not collect

For the avoidance of doubt, Squishito does not ask for, receive, store or transmit any of the following:

Names, usernames or profiles
Email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses
Dates of birth or ages
Photographs, video or voice recordings
Location data of any kind
Contacts or address books
Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or persistent device identifiers
Usage analytics, behavioural data or interaction histories

There is no sign-up screen in Squishito because there is no account to create.

What is stored on the device

The app saves your child's progress — which squishies they have collected, what they have named them, and their settings — in the app's own private storage on the device. This information stays on that device. It is not backed up to us, not synchronised between devices, and not visible to us or to anyone else.

Deleting the app removes this information permanently.

Swap Nearby — trading with a friend

Squishito lets two children who are physically in the same room trade squishy cards. This is the only feature that communicates with anything outside the app, and it is worth explaining carefully.

How it works

It connects directly between the two devices using Apple's local networking (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi). There is no server. Nothing travels over the internet and nothing reaches us.
The two devices must be close enough to be in the same room.
A session connects one device to exactly one other. There are no groups, no lobbies, and no way to reach a stranger who is not standing next to you.
Each device shows a randomly generated nickname such as "Bouncy Otter", created fresh each session and then discarded. Your child's real name and the device's name are never used or sent.
The connection is encrypted, and both children confirm the same set of pictures before any trade can happen.
What gets sent is a reference to artwork both apps already contain — not a photo, a file, a message, or anything your child created.
There is no chat. No text, voice or images can be sent between children.
Starting a trade requires passing a grown-up check — a question a young child cannot answer.

Children's privacy

Squishito is directed to children and is designed so that it does not need to collect personal information from a child in order to work. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — or from anyone else — because the app has no mechanism to collect or transmit it.

Because we hold no personal information, there is nothing for a parent to request access to, correct or delete. If you have a question about this, please contact us using the details below and we will answer.

Grown-up checks

Before anything that leaves the child's play experience — starting a nearby trade, making or restoring a purchase, or opening a link — Squishito asks a question designed to be easy for an adult and out of reach for a young child. Nothing is remembered between these checks: passing one does not unlock the next.

Purchases

Any purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive payment details — no card numbers, no billing addresses, no names. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

Changes to this policy

If Squishito ever changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if a future version added accounts or online features — we will update this page and change the date at the top before that version is released.
